No offense, we just make ‘em like that in my family. Another NoBloPoMo suffer-athon.

I’m a very well brought up type of person, southern manners and all. (I know, I’m from Alaska, but it’s a long story. I did grow up in Texas as well.) I’ll tell you your kids are cute whether they are or not, if I’m backed and cornered into such a situation. Sometimes, however, it can be hard. I once saw a baby that had ears that made it look like a monkey. I didn’t know what to do since it seemed too obviious to lie. But I did. And of course, the mother believed me. Poor creature.

On the other hand, I find it’s a shame since all that fake baby complimenting sort of obscures the truth when truth itself can be frighteningly blinding if left alone. Let me demonstrate.

I know I said that the truth was better left alone but dogs, just forget it. I think I’ve got bragging rights here. Check out this little patootie-face.

“Who is this?” you inquire…

So glad you asked, this is my heretofore unmentioned niece, firstborn offspring to baby brother, who has recently entered into the joy of sibling hood with her newfound newborn baby brother, Mr Pipsqueak, who will be referred to from this moment as Mr Pips. She will be dubbed L’il Miss Hot Tots, or LMHT, due to the overall undeniable nonchanance-meets-cuteness featured in above photo.

And for yet more gratuitous baby cuteness, get a peek at Mr Pips :

I could just eat those cheeks. They’re full of promise of slobbering zerberts that I cannot stand it. Utterly zerbertable. Looking at them sends homesickness over me in tsunami proportions. I’d have to have a really long neck to give a zerbert to a baby when he’s in Colorado and I’m in France.

Ooh !Ooh ! Is that a princess?

(Sassy lays on the floor drooling, overcome with cuteness, writhing in homesickness. Her tongue habgs to one side, eyes closed… wait, what is that? Is she zerberting the cold tiles? When was the last time they were washed anyway? Is that dog hair hanging out of the corner of her mouth?)

I understand!! I have a nearly five year old nephew and that is so clever, he keeps me in stitches..AND a brand-new niece born at the end of August. Mack and Maddison. Maddison has an olive complexion and is so chubby her eyes are slits so we call her Buddha.

So now I know that you could possibly be lying when you comment on my kids’ cuteness. That’s cool. Because your niece and nephew are gorgeous! *wink wink* Just kidding! :) They are sweet.

I had a friend who was overly honest and I once witnessed him meet the baby of a woman we worked with- he said “Good God!” and jumped back several feet from its ugliness. It was horrible but hilarious, too. Luckily, the mom didn’t even notice.

Sometimes, ugly babies grow into beautiful adults and vice versa!

Na, can’t give them kisses either, too far away,…, where are my dogs?

They are adorable! The photos of Mr. Pip have pushed my cluckiness back to extreme levels. *sighs*
