We got a call from the lab today.
Two of our four eggies have been fertilized. One day after retrieval, we have a zygote and a two cell embryo.
Tomorrow morning, we will have them both transferred.

exciting news!! now lets see them grow, hey!?!?

Hi Sassy,
Here from LFCA. My f/s recommended ICSI for us as well, even though my hubby’s swimmers are great. His reasoning was we hadn’t achieved a pregnancy in four IUIs with lots of mature follicles, and he was worried there was a fertilization problem. He was right- with the IVF, we had 1 out of 6 fertilize naturally, and 5 out of 6 fertilize with the ICSI (we did half ICSI, half normal- won’t be doing that again!). I have PCOS, endo, and auto-immune hypothyroidism.
I know you’ve already had the ICSI done, but thought I would pass along my experience anyway.
Best of luck with your transfer tomorrow. I hope the embies nestle into your womb. I’ll keep my fingers (and toes) crossed for you.

Good luck for tomorrow hon! Sticky vibes your way!
Ahhh…. I am so happy. I hope it goes perfectly tomorrow. Sending lots of xoxoxo to you both.
Sticky thoughts heading your way!
Thinking dividing sticky thoughts for you…
(Here from LFCA) Just want to say good luck tomorrow! Fingers crossed for a great transfer!
Oh, wow! Two! Great news!
You must be jumping out of your skin. And then there will be more of the waiting.
But two! Yay! Come on little cells! Do your thing.
All the best for ET!
I loved your previous post as well….I am so excited for you…sending you ‘Sticky’ wishes…
Since you have asked about the ICSI thing…here’s my cents:
My first IVF cycle was actually IVFw/ICSI. On 10 eggs, ICSI was done, and on 3 eggs, IVF was used.
Results? 9 out of 10 eggs fertilized through ICSI. 1 out of 3 eggs fertilized through IVF. It is obvious that my fertilization percentages were really good with ICSI.
There is some amount of controversy(like with every single technique known) related to ICSI… for ICSI, the tail of the sperm is destroyed and then force-fed into the egg. She had questioned the destruction of genetic material that always happens with ICSI.
But you know what? 20 heads is 20 opinions…trust your doctor and make a dash for it. My best wishes are with you.
Had I been able to know all that I came to know later, I would have liked to segregate the embryo created through IVF from the rest of the lot.
You are going to be super good.
Oops…I did not clarify who ’she’ is. She is one of my OBs.
Hope the transfer went well. Sending you many sticky thoughts.
